Take transit to the Capitol

Back to the office at the Capitol?

As you rediscover commuting to the Capitol Complex, consider Metro Transit. Instead of fighting for parking, take the easy way that lets you work, read, or relax while a pro deals with traffic.

Make your plan

Find all your options with our Trip Planner. Enter your starting point, destination, and the time you want to arrive. You'll see your trip options, including walking directions, fares, and total travel time. Simple! Get all the basics about riding.

No transit near you? Check out Park & Rides, where you can park free while you take a quick bus to work. Find the closest Park & Ride.

Ride easy with Metropass

Most Capitol Complex employees are eligible for Metropass, which gives you unlimited rides on buses and trains – not just to work – every month for just $35. Get details and sign up.

We're ready to go, are you?

Our buses and trains are faster and more frequent so there's less stop and more go in your commute. We've made big improvements to make your ride clean, comfortable, and safe.

One big add: Check out the new METRO Gold Line, which travels on a separate roadway (see ya, traffic jams!) along I-94 between Woodbury and downtown St. Paul. There are Park & Rides at Helmo Avenue in Oakdale and Woodland Drive in Woodbury, and connections to the Gold Line on Metro micro.

Go easier with the free Transit app. Download Transit app from your app store to plan your trip by bus and train, or options like bikeshare, carshare, and scooter.

$2 (or less) per ride!

Paying is simple:

All day. Every day. Price
Adults (13-64) $2
65+, Youth (6-12), Medicare card holders $1

On METRO lines, you buy a ticket at the station with cash or a credit card, validate a Go-To Card/pass, or activate a Metro Transit app ticket before you board. On regular Metro Transit buses, pay in cash (exact change only), with a Go-To Card, or with a ticket from the Metro Transit app. There is a surcharge to ride express buses.
