METRO TRANSIT TO HOST ROUTE 19H OPEN HOUSE
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – (March 27) – On May 31, Metro Transit Route 19H will be extended from its current terminal at 42nd Avenue and Xerxes to serve Lake Drive and Robbinsdale Transit Center.
To familiarize residents with the service improvement, Metro Transit will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 Thomas Avenue North in Minneapolis. The church is one block off Route 19H.
The open house is an opportunity for residents to learn about the upcoming extension, which was approved following public hearings on a broader transit restructuring in north Minneapolis and the northwest metro.
Scheduled to attend the open house are Robbinsdale City Council Member Dan Rogan, Metropolitan Council Transportation Committee Chair Mary Hill Smith and Metropolitan Council Member Tony Pistilli, whose district includes Robbinsdale.
The extension will create a new connection between the Victory neighborhood, eastern Robbinsdale and downtown Robbinsdale. Residents also can learn about both minor construction work planned on Victory Memorial Parkway to strengthen it for bus traffic and the elimination of a bus layover at 42nd & York Avenue.
Metro Transit is a service of the Metropolitan Council.
