TAKE METRO TRANSIT TO AN ANNUAL HOLIDAY TRADITION - THE TARGET HOLIDAZZLE PARADE
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – (Nov. 25) – If you’re planning to go to the Target Holidazzle Parade, Metro Transit suggests taking the bus or train to downtown Minneapolis to avoid busy streets and parking hassles.
As the sponsor of the Target Holidazzle Parade on Saturday, Dec. 13, Metro Transit will offer free rides on its buses and trains for customers taking in the annual holiday tradition. Free rides will be available again on Saturday, Dec. 20.
Free rides on Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 will be offered from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Metro Transit buses and trains and Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) buses. “Four hours of free rides will give families time before and after the parade to eat, shop and enjoy downtown Minneapolis,” said Metro Transit Marketing Director Bruce Howard.
Metro Transit will again feature in this year’s parade its Twinkle Bus, decked out for the season in more than 20,000 lights and snowflake-covered hubcaps.
This year’s parade season begins Friday, Nov. 28, and parades run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through Dec. 21. Each parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and travels down Nicollet Mall.
Dozens of Metro Transit bus routes and the Hiawatha light-rail line offer frequent service to downtown Minneapolis. To find out which route to take, customers can use the interactive trip planner. Customers who know their route and just need departure times can call NexTrip, a 24-hour automated schedule info line, at 612-341-4287.

Metro Transit is a service of Metropolitan Council. Last year, customers rode Metro Transit buses and trains 77 million times, the highest annual ridership in 25 years.
