Over the past several weeks, we've received a lot of great feedback on Network Now, a draft plan that will guide service changes we make through 2027.
Thank you to everyone who has taken time to join us at community meetings, provide written comments, or talked with staff out on the system.
What we’ve heard so far is that people support expanding service, simplifying routes, and introducing new services, including on-demand microtransit that will supplement our regular route network. We’ve also heard ideas for further improving the plan.
If you’ve not yet shared your thoughts, I invite you to do so today – almost every one of our routes is subject to change, so there’s a good chance you’ll find reason to provide feedback.
We’ll continue accepting written comments through Friday, Nov. 15. After the comment period closes, we’ll use everything we’ve heard to inform next steps.
While this work remains in progress, recent hiring success will allow us to improve service sooner than later. Highlights include:
- Service changes, taking effect Saturday, Dec. 7, will bring more frequent service to routes 4, 17, 54, 94, and the METRO Orange Line, among other improvements.
- In January, we will begin offering microtransit service in the Roseville and Woodbury areas.
- Our region’s sixth bus rapid transit line, the METRO Gold Line, will open next March, providing all-day service along the Interstate 94 corridor east of St. Paul.
Together, these and future changes outlined in Network Now will help us deliver on our vision and mission to connect people, strengthen communities, and improve lives. Thank you as always for your engagement and your ideas as we carry out this work.
