How long have you been riding the bus or train?
I started at the University of Minnesota in Fall 2023 and have been riding ever since.
How often do you ride?
I ride the bus almost every day to class and often take the train to concerts or events downtown.
Favorite route(s)?
For buses, I love the 3 because it takes me right through campus and into the North Loop when I’m running errands or going out. The Blue Line is also great for going to MOA!
Why do you ride transit?
I ride transit because it is the easiest way to get around without a car. Not only is it better for the environment to use public transportation, but it’s also convenient and nice not to always drive everywhere.
What you wish “first-timers” knew?
First-timers, make sure you look at your map or listen to the bus announcements to make sure you don’t miss your stop. Transit gets you around the city a lot quicker than you realize and the first couple of times I went into the city I didn’t realize that.
Favorite destination?
My favorite destination has to be the Trader Joe’s in the North Loop because that was the first place in the city my roommate and I went by ourselves on transit and I felt so free and fun.
What does Metro Transit get right?
Metro always has routes everywhere I need to go.
What can we improve?
Sometimes, the buses don’t feel well spaced out. There will be two buses back to back and the next one is 20 minutes away. I also think that the map apps aren’t always updated and accurate with times.
Favorite onboard memory?
My favorite onboard memory was when I was going to a holiday market with my friends and we rode the light rail right past the capitol building while the sun was setting. It was a picture-perfect moment.
Favorite movie about transit?
I love the Polar Express because it is so nostalgic and the Hot Chocolate song is a cinematic masterpiece.
